Kindly be informed that abolishment of retail licenses for mild steel round bars and cement to be effective from 15th July 2010. With reference to the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the ministry abolished the price control on steel and cement in 2008. However, it maintained control on supply and licensing.
Although the steel round bars and cement has been exempted from retail license, but businesses must still comply with the Control Act 1974 (Akta Kawalan Bekalan 1974).
